I caught along side Jenny for 3 years at Cal State Fullerton and was fortunate enough to compete with her everyday while building a friendship that was rooted in the art of catching. She ultimately became my greatest competitor and biggest fan.
What she knew and I later learned was that catching was bigger than either one of us. Her respect for the game and pride she has in building the total athlete is what sets her apart from the rest.
Jenny believed in my daughter Emily from the moment they met. Jenny worked hard with Emily not only in learning softball but in teaching Emily she was an exceptional kid. There was no judgment from Jenny on Emily’s size it was a trust Emily had not felt thus so far in her softball endeavors. Jenny’s ability to connect with Emily was truly inspiring, she slowly broke Emily out of her shell and we began to see a more self-confident Emily, An Emily that began to hold herself accountable for herself, and an Emily seeking to be the best she could be. One year later Emily’s softball skills are beyond our expectations, her growth has been mind-blowing. Emily is down 50 pounds, her grades are all amazing and her self-confidence has truly become an inspiration to many.
When one reflects on their life they can pinpoint that one person who believed in them when no others have, that one person who made you feel your dream was not a dream but a reality, Jenny has been and continues to be that person of inspiration for our family!
I will forever be grateful to Jenny for her dedication to my family and believing in what we could accomplish with this lifestyle change. One of the positive side effects was seeing Emily find just as much success as I did and not even realizing that our lifestyle change was not a hurdle it was an accomplishment. I humbly thank Jenny and appreciate all of the positive encouragement she has given us along this journey! Hard work and dedication always payoff!
